What is the study drug?

The study drug is designed to lower the amount of aldosterone made by your body. Aldosterone is a hormone that helps control the amount of salt and potassium in your body. Too much aldosterone in the body can cause blood pressure to go up.

It is taken by mouth once every day. You will also take any study-allowed high blood pressure medications as instructed.

What is an investigational drug?

Investigational drugs are still being researched to learn if they are safe and effective for treating diseases. They are not approved by agencies such as the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA). They can only be used for research.

Have other people used the study drug?

Yes. The study drug has been studied to learn about its safety. It is also being studied in people who are not responding to their high blood pressure treatments.
